The River Ure runs through North Yorkshire and is approximately 74 miles long from its source to the point where it becomes the River Ouse. It is a beautiful section surrounded by open countryside and has an abundance of wildlife.
We will meet at Boroughbridge Marina for a briefing and a chat about our plans for the day. We will look at the kayaks, equipment and put on our Buoyancy Aids. We will then paddle up stream toward Westwick Lock where we stop for lunch and a drink before heading back down river to the Marina. During the paddle we will get to work on our paddling techniques and look at water safety.
All equipment will be provided, and the event will be supported by qualified instructors and Mental Health First Aiders. This is an ideal opportunity to explore the health benefits of paddle sports as well as learning new skills.
