The River Soar is a tributary of the River Trent and is the main river running through Leicestershire where it then joins the Grand Union Canal. The river has the most stunning section of backwater as you pass through tall Reed beds and marshes. Our trip passes Quorn Hall. This beautiful building was originally built for the Quorn Hunt, before later being commandeered by Navy during the second World War. We will be using Sit On Top kayaks for this trip. These are super stable and have space for your lunches or anything else you would like to bring with you. These will need to be in a waterproof bag. You do get splashes on your legs so waterproof trousers are a good idea if you have them. All equipment will be provided, and the event will be supported by qualified instructors and Mental Health First Aiders. This is an ideal opportunity to explore the health benefits of paddle sports as well as learning new skills. These events are aimed at all fitness levels and will be led by professional outdoor instructors with support from our team of qualified MHFA staff.
