Join us for a Beginners Paddle Sports day on the River Nene
We will be using Sit On Top kayaks to paddle on part of the River Nene. Our launch point is at Orton Mere, a location used by Proteus Canoe Club.
Our day will start with a briefing and to talk about the plans for the day. We will talk about the river and kit up with Buoyancy Aids.
We have various options for the trip. We can paddle down towards Peterborough with a trip through the town or head further upstream. This will be decided near the time once we have checked weather and levels. The distance we cover will be decided on the day, but we normally expect to paddle approximately 6 miles. We will stop for lunch along our route, so a packed lunch is essential.
