Lake Ullswater is the second largest lake in the English Lake District. It’s 7 miles long and 0.75 miles wide. Don’t worry we won’t be paddling all of it! But we will have a lovely paddle up the shoreline before finding a suitable place to stop and have our packed lunches. We will sit on the shore before taking a nice steady paddle back.
Join us for a Beginners Paddle Sports day on Lake Ullswater. We will meet at Park Foot Holiday Park. There is a small car park where you can leave your car and any belongings. We will then walk down to the small beach area and talk about the equipment and the kayaks we will be paddling. We will be using Sit On Top kayaks for this trip. These are super stable and have space for your lunches or anything else you would like to bring with you. These will need to be in a waterproof bag. You do get splashes on your legs so waterproof trousers are a good idea if you have them.
All equipment will be provided, and the event will be supported by qualified instructors and Mental Health First Aiders. This is an ideal opportunity to explore the health benefits of paddle sports as well as learning new skills.
