This organised walking event is being planned in support of Trail Magazine’s ‘Mountains for the Mind’ campaign and will be free to attend.

We start with steep steps winding around mature trees that was once part of the Idris family estate, now a national nature reserve, next to the waterfalls until we reach a gate and a chance to catch our breath again.  From here the landscape opens, and we make our way into the Cwm and Llyn Cau.  Then as we start to take the ridge line up the Minffod path, we follow it all the way to the summit.

After a good lunch stop around the shelter, we carry on taking in another summit Mynydd Moel, this is across a gentle plateau with fantastic views. Then make a careful descent down some mixed lose terrain until we hit a small stream, where our achy feet can enjoy a dip!

The route is a mix of uneven rock and steps, You will definitely feel like you have climbed a mountain after wards when enjoying refreshments in the hotel garden at the bottom.
