We have teamed up with the Outdoor Partnership in Cumbria to run a number of free walking events. These events are specifically aimed at introducing residents of Copeland & Allerdale to our incredible green spaces.
These events include minibus transportation to and from local pick-up points, starting at Whitehaven Library at 10.00am. Details of all pick-up points, timings, and what to wear / fetch will be included in an information pack that is sent out after booking confirmation.
This walk will take place along the Solway coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), with views across the water to Scotland and beyond. This part of the country is famous for the variety of bird life that can be found on the marshes, but also plays host to a number of other rare plants and animals, such as the Nutterjack Toad, one of Britain’s rarest amphibians.
A walk along the shore, following the Cumbria coastal path, up to Grune Point, before heading back, through the marshes to begin before re-joining the coastal path
Further details of this walk, including the booking link, can be found on our JustGo page.
