The Ogwen Valley is undeniably a stunning natural wonder located within the National Parks. It serves as the perfect starting point for exploring the magnificent Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges, and boasts the awe-inspiring Cwm Idwal – a breathtaking glacial valley that will leave you in awe. Cwm Idwal is a true geological marvel, showcasing a fusion of volcanic and sedimentary rock formations, towering crags, scree, moraines, and Arctic vegetation. It is a sight that simply cannot be missed.

Our journey will commence from the Ogwen information centre and progress towards Llyn Bochlwyd, where we will be greeted with a breathtaking view of Y Gribin, our destination for the day. We will then traverse some easy, level terrain to arrive at the base of the ridge, from which we will ascend to the start of the scramble. This will require navigating through a series of notable notches and along the ridge that will ultimately lead us up to the Glyderau.

Please note that Y Gribin is classified as a Grade 1 scramble, and must be navigated with carefully to ensure your safety. The route can be narrow and exposed in certain areas, which is why our highly experienced team will provide you with guidance. Although it is ideal for beginners, please be advised that we will not attempt the scramble in adverse weather conditions. Instead, we will opt for an alternative route up the mountain.

Further details on location, and how to book, can be found on our JustGo page.
