This will be a linear walk from Robin Hood’s Bay to Whitby, which will require use of public transport.  We will meet at Whitby Train Station and, from there will catch a bus to Robin Hood’s Bay to start our walk.

Robin Hood’s Bay is a picturesque old fishing village on the Heritage Coast of the North York Moors.  Wandering through its narrow, twisting cobbled streets and alleyways, you can easily imagine the sailors and fishermen, smugglers and press gangs that walked these streets hundreds of years ago.

From Robin Hood’s Bay we will join the Cleveland Way, which will take us to Whitby via a coastal path along towering cliffs, which will provide dramatic views of the coastline.

We will pass the stunning ruins of Whitby Abbey before descending cobbled streets into Whitby itself – home of Captain Cook and the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.  There are many excellent shops, pubs and restaurants in Whitby, so plenty of opportunity to explore in the afternoon.
