The Gower area is a stunning beauty spot that was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956, making it the first in the UK. The area boasts a breathtaking limestone coastline and a range of natural habitats, from delicate dunes and salt marshes to dramatic limestone cliffs that stretch down to sandy beaches.
We will begin our journey at the National Trust car park in Penmaen. Our circular route will take us south towards the coast and Pennard Pill, then north along the river towards Parkmill. There, we can stop by the Heritage Centre, which offers amenities such as toilets and a café. Next, we will venture into the woodland area surrounding Parc Le Breos Farm and visit a Neolithic Chamber. Upon emerging from the woods, we will travel west along the lower section of Cefn Bryn, which boasts stunning views of the Gower. Finally, we will climb up to the ridge line before returning to the car park.
