Starting by the banks of Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond is a steady climb with magnificent views across the Trossachs and beyond. At the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park, Ben Lomond is the most southerly of the Scottish Munros. The summit is at an elevation of 990m which on a clear day can offer spectacular views across the west coast and even as far North as Ben Nevis.

The route has a clear path with some rocky sections. We’ll start heading uphill through some woodland with some muddy sections. Our ascent takes us up Ptarmigan ridge with short sections of steep ground, and our descent takes us down a gentler route across the eastern shoulder of the hill.
